"From nothing into something"

As you know, nowadays many couples actually decided to go for BTO/SOB first before getting married because flats are getting more and more ex. So, Boyfriend and I had actually balloted a flat last year November 2014. We applied for Sales of Balance, Chua Chu Kang. And after a long way, we finally settled !

8 Steps to get your house !

1. Submit your application online. 
After all the research and consideration, we decided to pay a non-refundable administrative fee of $10 for the Chua Chu Kang flat. It will only take 5-10 minutes for you to complete an submission.
You should check on your eligibility for a loan from HDB or a bank/financial institution, before you commit to buy a flat. Please refer to Eligibility to buy new HDB flat & Online Eligibility Questionnaire.

2. Ballot Result
We waited for around 2-3 months for the ballot result to release. We prayed hard that we can get a good queue number. And yes ! We gotten number 10 ! (:

3. Apply for Loans
Before you go down for selection of flat, you may want to apply for the HLE. It takes around 1 month to approve.
If you plan to take an HDB housing loan, you must have a valid HDB Loan Eligibility (HLE) Letter when you book a flat.
If you are taking a bank loan, please approach any financial institutions to find out the amount of home loan which you can get. You must have a valid Letter of Offer before signing the Agreement for Lease. For an estimate of the maximum loan that you may be eligible, please use our maximum loan calculator. 4. Waiting for appointment
We received our booklet around 1-2 months after we have received our queue number.
While waiting, I suggest you guys to select more choice if your number is far away. This is because others might be choosing what you want, and you won't have much time for you to discuss there. Like mine, i gotten number 10, so i chosen at least 10 flat.

5. Selection appointment
Finally, it's our selection appointment, 02 April 2015 ! We had our flat at Chua Chu Kang, flat was $290,600. Oh ya, do take note that your HLE did not expire. But if your HLE expired, it's alright you may just have to reapply it again. HLE last for six months.

Things to bring for selection:

• Identity Cards for both of the parties
• Latest 3 months payslips (Your payslip should have your company stamp)
• Letter from employer (if you doesn't have payslip)
• Marriage Certification (if you have)
• For 3rooms $1000 option fee, for 4rooms/5rooms $2000 option fee. These are payable via Cash/Nets/Cheque. And these option fee will refunded to you after you have made your deposit.

We also applied for the AHG/SHG grant (at least one of your partner work for 12 months continuously). *SHG is available for 2-room, 3-room and 4-room flat applications, and in non-mature estates only.

Things to submit to apply AHG/SHG:

• Original payslips for the past 12 months.
• Letter from employer (if you doesn't have payslip)
• CPF statements showing contributions for the past 12 months.

 After all the signing procedures, we were asked to pay our option fee of $2000 at level 3, and then back to the office again. The whole process took 15-20 minutes.

6. AHG/SHG Letter
We have been waiting for this AHG/SHG letter for 3-4months, and so our AHG/SHG letter has arrived. It's a GOOD NEWS ! We got a total of 45K grant, 22.5K each to our account !It's very simple, all you have to do is to submit those document.

7. Signing Agreement for lease
You will be invited to sign the Agreement for Lease within three months from your flat selection date. On 02 July 2015, we went down to sign our Agreement for Lease, we paid 5% of our flat which means $14,530 using part of our grant. The balance 5% will have to pay when our key collection time.

8. Key Collection
That's it ! We are waiting for our keys collection now (:

Our flat most probably will be ready by 1st Quarter 2016. We are excited for our new flat and we are working really hard on it ! This is just the first step to our future. (:
