Our Solemnization tables & chairs !

Our JP, Mr Stephen Chen is really nice. He guided us all the way and we just followed every of his instructions. What we did was listen and say "Yes". Our awkward face and blank face. Our mind went literally blank. We both are really super duper nervous !

After all the vows, we put on the rings for each others. Unglam pictures, cause his ring suddenly can't put it in. Too nervous !

And so, he said "What are you waiting for? You may kiss your bride now ! "

Officially married to MR FUNG JIAN WEN. And now we are husband & wife ! Thank you for the wonderful solemnization (:

Hi girls ! Well, i am going to introduce to you my very first nail sponsor !

The place was really comfortable, people there's really friendly too ! The interior of the shop may be small but its feeling really cosy.

She's really very friendly and nice to talk to! At least we didn't have any awkward silence since it was our first time meeting.

File for Marriage

Finally had file for our notice of marriage. We got our solemnizer, our date, our time & our venue !

Steps for Filing Notice of Marrige

This form takes approximately 20 minutes to fill. Be sure that you have double checked all the details before you click submit.

 Please prepare the following:
- NRICs (for citizens) / Passports (for non-citizens) of groom, bride and two adult witnesses
- Duly completed Solemnizer Consent Form. Click here to download a 'Solemnizer Consent Form'. (For those who are holding outside the ROM)
- Payment Via Credit Cards

1) Confirm the solemnization date, time and venue.
2) Click here to go to 'File Notice of Marriage'.
3) Confirm your Solemnizer & get his/her Licence Number. Click here to go to 'List of Licensed Solemnizers'.
4) Inform your Solemnizer about your marriage details such as plan, venue, date, time.
5) Meet and obtain your solemnizer’s signature on the consent form. For contingency reasons, always ask your solemnizer for the name and contact number of his/her buddy solemnizer.
6) Payment Via Credit Cards ($26)

You will be given a notice number, you can retrieve it back if you do not have a printer when you are doing your filing. After you have successfully file for your marriage, you will receive an email & sms.

On your Appointment at ROM for Verification of Documents and Statutory Declaration:

1.    Who needs to be present?
       Groom and Bride

2.    What to bring?
       a) Summary of your Notice of Marriage
       b) For the Groom and Bride:
- Original NRIC(SC/SPR) or
- Original Passport and work/immigration passes(Foreigner)                                                                                                                                
       c) Photocopy of NRIC (SC/SPR) or Passport (Foreigner) of 2 witnesses
       d) Signed 'Invitation to Solemnize a Marriage' form
       e) Divorce/Annulment papers (if applicable)
       f) Death certificate of late spouse (if applicable)

On the day of Solemnization:

1. Who needs to be present?
- Groom and Bride
- 2 witnesses
- Licensed Solemnizer (for solemnizations outside ROM)
 
2. What to bring?
- Original NRIC (SC/SPR)/Passport(Foreigner) of Groom, Bride and 2 witnesses
- Documents collected from ROM (for solemnizations outside ROM)
- Rings for exchange (optional)

And yes ! You are done (: All you have to do now is wait patiently for your big day to arrive! Also remember to contact your solemnizer few days before your big day to "remind" him. Ohya, you will also be given a date for you to collect all your certs as well as doing all the "sumpa" before your rom date.

I am so happy that I have finally found my solemnizer aka JP (Justice of Peace)!!!

Actually I started finding my solemnizer not long ago.It is really tough to find if your date is on the popular dates, and mine is on 10 Oct 2015 ! Ended up none of them is free to attend, so my colleague actually introduce me one which was her solemnizer too.

An advice to all: Start to look for your desired solemnizer if you are looking for the popular one and if your dates is on popular dates find in advance.

Initially my first choice is Mr Tan Yan Boon. So I emailed him, and its so amazing that I got his reply in less than 15 minutes. (Via Email) But he was unable to attend on our solemnization date. He is very popular so you may try earlier if you wish to engage him, just in case he is fully booked.

Counting down in 42 Days ! (:

Solemnization Venue

FINALLY we had our venue confirmed !!!

You guys might be wondering why we separate our solemnization and banquet mainly is because we still saving money. Secondly is if we were to hold solemnization and banquet together, it will be really too rush for us. We would probably need to settle everything within 4th quarter of 2015 (didn't expect even more fast) as our flat is ready by then. Lastly, we need the ROM certificate to prove that we are married when key collection. So yeah, that is why we have to separate both solemnization and banquet.

So currently our plan goes like this.
We will be going to ROM first, then start to renovate our new flat when it comes, followed by banquet (not that fast, depends), then followed by moving into our flat.

Actually we never expect that our flat will build that fast, it really build faster than we expect. So an advice to all, DO PLAN AHEAD!

Okay, let's start talking about solemnization venue. We actually have 4 venue in mind, but we only went down to two site to take a look. For our ROM we make it a simple one, around 10-12pax. So we decided to book a room with karaoke in it.
